Spike
Full Name: Spike Spiegal
Age: 27 (born on Mars)

As a member of the Red Dragons (a Chinese mafia group), Spike acted with little thought and had a sense of what was right. Now, however, he is cool and self-possessed. He hides this past so that he can live a free life, free of worry, or so he hopes. Together with his partner Jet Black, Spike the bounty hunter flies from planet to planet in the spaceship Bebop. Relishing new encounters and loving danger, he never forgets to crack a joke
no matter how much trouble he's in. His martial-art of choice is Jeet Kune Do, and he is never defeated in unarmed melee combat. He attaches little value to money or the concept of justice, but he will always fulfill his obligations. He belives in accomplishing everything in his own way and has utter faith in his own values. As a result of this, he is always embroiled in some kind of trouble. His sleek spaceship, the Swordfish, is the fastest of
its type. It was originally developed for racing
in asteroid belts, but now it is refitted for combat as well. He worships the martial artist and philosopher Bruce Lee as his 'spirtual master'.

Jet
Full Name: Jet Black
Age: 36

The ever steadfast Jet Black is a man who, with his old-world principles, lives at odds with this age's callous wind of change. His is a life of duty and compassion for his follow man: 'Abhor the sin, not the Sinner.' He takes pleasure in literary quotes from Goethe even as he indulges his passion for Charlie Parker. Although a compulisve gambler, Jet ordiniarily finds peace of mind,
tending to his bonsai. He is also a competent cook. In his younger years, he was a member of the ISSP (Inter Solar Systems Police). Back then
he was a hotshot officer, and was known by the nickname Black - 'once he gets his teeth in you, he doesn't let go' - Dog. Sadly, he retired from the ISSP following an incident that left him badly injured and requiring cybernetic implants. Not long after, he began his life as a bounty hunter. He rebuilt a second-hand space trawler into a spaceship he named Bebop. Since teaming up with Spike, Jet has made good use of his contacts, the majority of which were made when he was in the ISSP, and is responsible for planning operations and gathering intelligence. His ship of choice is a reconstructed Sack Fish, originally built as a catcher boat, called Hammerhead.

Faye
Full Name: Faye Valentine

Faye Valentine's entire past is veiled in mystery; her age and place of birth are unknown or unclear to her, as well as everyone else. An alluring figure, good looks, and an unstoppable mouth are her greatest weapons. She is very self-centered, and doesn't seem to care about anything or anybody else. Still, this only masks her true feelings, which she only hides to keep others from thinking of her as weak. She is pushy and resilientno matter what the sitiuation. Gambling is her hobby: cheating her specialty. In a world where money is everything, she has no regrets about doing whatever it takes to get by. Faye gives free reign to her desires, and doesn't let particulars bother her. She freely divulges that she has a massive debt which is into astronomical figures (for who knows why?!). Faye, on occasion, will take up an aggressive or threatening attitude, but she likes (tries is a better word) to get a lot of enjoyment out of life. She is also a capable markswoman. Her spaceship, Red Tail, a model used for military patrols and by various planetary law-enforcement forces, is fully-outfitted with a vast array of weapons. Dubbed 'far too hot to handle', even her innocent, almost child-like smile can appear palpably dangerous.
There are also times, however, when she reveals a lonesome aspect to her unknown past, a past that even money cannot buy.

Ein
Ein is a Welsh Corgi with stubby legs and a tailless rump. At a glance Ein appears to be nothing more than a somewhat charming
two-year old dog, however he conceals a great secret. In fact, he is an illegal 'data dog', which was developed by a certain research group,
through many months of study and a phenomenal amount of funding. Supposedly, his trade price in collectors' circles is astronomical. But what is a data dog? What does it do? No suprise; that, too, is a secret. At times, Ein behaves as if he can perfectly understand human speech, and even utilizes telephones and computers (crudely). A dog to the last , Ein never speaks in the human tongue. But even so, the fact that he has a liking for carrots and has an intensely curious nature is understood by even the crew of Bebop.

Julia

She is a phantasm that continues to inhabit Spike's past - a clutch of memories never to be
forgotten. When she appears before him, the world he had believed to be reality begins to shift. The illusion named Julia - unclear providence, unknown age. Her tears, her smile, her perfume. Never had he considered the possibility of their loss. All he remembers for certain is her name, and nothing more; even that may prove to be just a figment, another phantasm. But for the moment he can not be sure. A woman who disappeared on that rainy night; a betrayal, by the friend he considered a brother in arms; and flight, away from the organization that had raised and nurtured him - by thus destroying his own
past and her ghostly phantasm, he 'died' a first death and was reborn anew. Yet he subconsciously continued to seek this truth, which he had supposedly destroyed and had vanished beyond the limits of his memory.
For it is this very phantasm that defines the reality he lost, is his anima. And once again, on another rainy afternoon, in that selfsame place, he will face his destiny.
